The Sustainable Investor supports CURI the 'Coalition of Universities for Responsible Investing', in holding its first symposium on June 21, 2011.
In collaboration with the Social Investement Organization and the Responsible Endowments Coalition. The aim of this symposium is to discuss the current state of responsible investment at Canadian Universities and avenues for improvement.

University of Toronto creates Advisory Committee on Responsible investing
On March 4th, 2008, the University of Toronto established an ad hoc committee of qualified individuals to review investments claimed to be in conflict with University's social and political position and to advise the President on possible actions to be taken.
The committee that is now formed and is chaired by the Vice-Chair of Business Affairs and consists of students, administrative staff, alumni and teaching staff. The committee's report and the President's decisons will be reported to the Governing Council through the Executive Committee.
